T.I. cover VIBE Magazine December/January 2011 issue which hits stands on November 30th. VIBE got Tips last interview before he turned himself in to do another year sentence in prison. Journalist Erik Parker was on deck to get this candid interview from T.I. just days before. Check out an excerpt below of the interview and behind the scenes video of the cover shoot.
I’ve heard you mention how the good that you’ve done is easily forgotten. Do you feel that you’ve been treated unfairly?
If I place my value in the way humans treat me, then maybe. But they’re human, man―they can’t help themselves. They do that to people they know personally. So how can I expect them to treat me, only knowing me through television? They did that to Jesus. They did that to Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali. They did it to every great person you could possibly think of. When it was all good, they was with them. When things got bad, then they was against them.
But in this case things didn’t “get bad.” It’s something you did.
Let me just say this: [he sits up on the couch] If you look at a guy who came up, no pops in the house, moms on welfare, food stamps; started selling dope when he was 12, 13 years old, came up handling guns, being in shoot-outs; started going to jail when he was 15. In all of this chaos and this mischief and lawlessness, the person who was just in jail for machine guns and silencers turns his life around. And now you want to crucify him ―for what? Three pills. I mean, of course it’s wrong and unacceptable and inexcusable. No problem. But in the grand scheme of things, it’s rather petty. It’s rather petty to hold someone’s feet to the fire for something so small when they have overcame things that were so big. All that could have been going wrong―if I was riding with more guns, or if I had gotten into a shoot-out and killed somebody, then I could see that. But just think about it. I’ve gotten it down to this much.
How did you get a drug habit?
I had a lot of work done to my teeth. Oral surgery, extractions, six, seven, eight root canals. Between January to February. As soon as I got out, I had a lot of stuff done. In the joint, you eat shit that is unhealthy for you. I had fillings that fell out and stuff that had to get dealt with. Of course for the pain they gave me oxycontin and hydrocodone. And, mind you, on October 13, 2007, I had cut off everything―weed, alcohol. Then I get these pills and I start taking them for the pain at first. And then I’m like, Wait―this shit makes me feel good. And it’s legal. After the pain went away, I kept taking it. I had like five, six prescriptions. So I had, like 80 pills. Everybody else might have a drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. Times when I had 18-, 20-hour days, I’d take a pain pill. And eventually I developed―I guess―the beginning stages of dependence.
Have you talked to Eminem about addiction?
Sure. We got a record together, and we talked a lot. I asked him how he knew he was an addict. Basically if you put yourself in harm’s way... if you risk that, you’ve got to assume that there is something fundamentally wrong with your thought process.

According to TMZ the L.A. County District Attorney has charged T.I.'s wife Tameka Cottle (Tiny) for possession of the drug ecstasy. We all remember when the couple was arrested on Sunset Strip last month and now T.I. will serve another year in jail but looks like the charges on Tiny may stick as well and may face up to a year in jail if Convicted.

T.I. was on probation for a 2009 federal gun possession conviction. T.I. probation was revoked by a federal judge today and was sentenced to 11 months in prison. Stay Tuned!

Chris Brown announced that he had recruited some dope artist from the remix but I do not think he mentioned Andre 3000. T.I. cover YRB Magazine fall fashion issue. Despite the recent run in with the law T.I. is still on the move promoting his new upcoming album "King Uncaged" and number one movie "Takers". The fit T.I. is rocking on YRB cover is pretty dope I can not front on that. I am sure this issue has some dope fashion spreads as well. The issue also include celebs like Kelly Rowland, Lala Vasquez, Bruno Mars and J. Cole.
I know a few of us find this as a shock but its not. T.I. and Tiny were busted in LA last night for the possession of weed. I guess T.I. wasn't playing with that I "Got Your Back" single. Looks like T.I. and Tiny are the new Bonnie and Clyde of hip hop for real this time around. The only problem is the two have children to set examples for. Check below for the details of the arrest.
According to TMZ: Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff's deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:30PM. Deputies say they smelled marijuana, and after searching the vehicle they arrested T.I. and Tameka.
The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. -- real name Clifford Harris Jr. -- is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges.
The class of the controlled substance that was found includes methamphetamines and ecstacy. Tiny and T.I. were taken to separate squad cars and transported to a local Sheriff's station. Both were booked on felony possession of a controlled substance.
We're told T.I. and Tameka are in custody right now. Bail amount is $10,000.

"Pledge Allegiance To The Swag" produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E League and rumored to be T.I.'s next single. As of now "King Uncaged" does not have a release date. The tack is pretty dope if you ask me but still does not have that spark to be a serious banger to certify that T.I. will do some amazing numbers the first week out. T.I. is on a pretty good path with "Takers" dominating the box office at number 1 this past week. We just need to hear some of that signature T.I. sound and think as usual it will be all for the taking for the King of the south.

There was a version that only had Swizz Beatz on it but now I assume this is the final version featuring T.I. and we all know Trey Songz will be releasing his new album on September 14th. I noticed a lot of blogs just has this titled as "Freaky Dance" but if the paid attention to the track list to Passion, Pain & Pleasure they would seen the title "I Like Dat (Freak Freaky Dance)". Trey Songz is currently on tour with Monica and Dondria and tearing up the charts with the current single "Bottoms UP" featuring Nicki Minaj. Get your headphones out and take a listen and of course do not forget to take advantage of the free download.
