Former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress didn't have to go deep, but his lawyer still ended up trash-talking a deal that got his client two years in prison for admitting he had the unlicensed gun he shot himself in the leg with at a Manhattan nightclub.
Plax's lawyers haggled a long time with prosecutors, who insisted on two years in the hoosegow. Once talks broke down, the District Attorney's office presented the case to grand jurors, and an indictment was handed up. The plea deal followed quickly.
Attorney Benjamin Brafman didn't like the call: "This was not an intentional criminal act. In my judgment, a two-year prison sentence is a very severe punishment."
A Manhattan judge still has to seal the deal. That's scheduled for Sept. 22 -- two days after the Giants play the Dallas Cowboys on national TV.
WAKE UP PPL THERE IS A WAR AGAINST BLACK FOLKS
