Good Morning loves!
While on Facebook checking my rounds of statuses (which are quite entertaining and uplifting) I came across one written by my friend Sparkle Edwards. Her status told women you be ready when God sends you a good man but also know that he wants a good woman as well. I thought to myself, "Wow. I don't think us women really look at it that way."
I examined my own life for a moment first to see if it applied to me first! I remember several of ex boyfriends telling me one common thing, "Nina, you are all over the place and I can't handle it. You gotta get it together." My answer was always the defensive. I never wanted to listen and even worse I wanted out of them what I wasn't even doing myself. I wanted them to take care of me but I didn't even really know how to take care of myself! I wanted them to be settled and adjusted and I wasn't even willing to be settle, focused and ready myself! I am now woman enough to admit that. (Quick PSA--if your reading this and you knew you didn't do me right don't start patting yourself on the back! Lol! This is NOT referring to you! But, I hope you are blessed by it anyway:). Lol). Ladies, you want Prince Charming but you treat him like the dirt under your shoes! You want him to take care of you but you have no clue how to take care of yourself or he sees no drive in you except the drive your hand takes into his wallet then you get offended when someone calls you out! Come on ladies! Be the woman who you love and you will receive from God the man you will fall in love with without hesitation and who will love you the same. Be the priceless jewel that you are meant to be and shine. Be the creation God can be proud of, if you aren't and you want to be go back to Him (God) and ask for instructions. (Check the manual:)).
Men, (don't worry I'll be gentle) Aretha Franklin said it best, "If you want a do right all day woman, you gotta be a do right all night man! " If you don't know all the words go listen to it, google it, i tunes, amazon something!!! You can't expect your woman to be Stretch Armstrong or Superwoman when there ain't nothing super or beyond your reach that you are doing in your relationship or IN YOUR LIFE or in THE LIFE YOU ARE BUILDING w/HER. You want her to be picture perfect but you got so much dirt on you, you can't even see yourself for who you really are!
Everybody, we must be grounded in who we are and so in love with ourselves that whatever they bring is a bonus! Also, a lot of times in relationships and in life our EXPECTATIONS exceed our ACTIONS. Do the work with God in the midst and He will work it out! Do right by someone and be right when you are with them. If you are not being treated right after all your efforts then you have the right to ask them to exit stage right off of the STAGE CALLED YOUR LIFE! You only get one life and this is your show baby! You don't need no one half playing their part!
All of this has been said in love people! I just want us all to stop looking for something when we are not willing to dig deep, admit our faults, do the work and THEN receive what's coming. Yes sometimes we get hurt or mistreated and its no fault of our own but take the lesson and stop lessening what you are willing to give when it comes to life and love because of what has happened around you or to you!
It starts with me today! Will you be a do right woman? Man?
Remember, life is not perfect, it is purposed for.........GREATNESS!!!
