Last week the Pittsburgh PA, MC Wiz Khalifa was crowned MTV 2010 breakthrough artist. Wiz Khalifa taking that crown is damn sure what the outcome should have been, the MC has been doing his thing independently for some time now. He beat out artist like Diggy Simmons and Nicki Minaj, who both has a pretty serious buzz going on right now. There was word for a while that he would be signing with Atlantic Records and Rick Ross has also extended a contract from Maybach Music.
Wiz Khlifah mixtape and videos catching views and downloads in the millions would clearly make him a great candidate for a recording contract. He has decided to sign with Atlantic Records under Rostrum Records. He was grateful for the offer from Rick Ross but decided Atlantic was where he would call home.
“It’s a huge honor for him to even extend a hand like that,” Wiz said after seeing a video of Ross asking what it would take for Khalifa to sign to his label. “Even if it ain’t no paperwork between me and Ross, it’s gonna be work done between me and Ross.”
Wiz Khalifa has confirmed signing with Atlantic Records after keeping the deal hush for sometime now he states “I wanted to make sure that I had records that I was comfortable with before I went to any label or any situation.” I guess Wiz will be making his hip hop mainstream debut real soon.
