Controversy sells and hip hop is always in the middle of it these days. Lets talk about Kanye West's album cover and #50andSoulja. This had to be turned into a twitter report. Now take a close look at Kanye West "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" album cover. Dope right? The album is due in stores November 22nd. The funny part is you think what was Kanye thinking when he submitted the cover. He had to have the only smile on. You gotta love how no matter what he continues to push the envelope in his own way. Kanye spoke on twitter about how in the 70s this is how the record covers were and how the industry has become so commercialized. The cover is basically a scene of black male and white woman having sex while homeboy sips on a heineken. I have to say Kanye had to know he would get at least some crazy feedback let alone almost sure to be banned for release the U.S. I do see the message he is trying to send out about the powers that be in the industry. Keep holding your ground Kanye.
Today XXL revealed their November 2010 issue with 50 Cent and Soulja Boy on the cover and an immediate frenzy occurred. Trending Topic #50ANDSOULJA started by none other than Kat Stacks. The people are goin in about the cover being gay and how jail life or culture have a strong influence in hip hop. XXL even called a debate (CLICK HERE) on their own site about the cover, comparing it to Lil Wayne and Baby's cover. The are comments of the covers being homoerotic. People also compared it to an episode of Boondocks. Talk about getting some press. 50 Cent is currently working on his new album and Soulja Boy "The Deandre Way" in stores November 2nd.
