VH1 Def Jam Hip Hop Honors. The best rap label ever they call it. Def Jam was founded by Rick Rubin in his dorm room at New York University and its first release was a single by his punk-rock group, Hose. Russell Simmons joined Rubin shortly after they were introduced to each other by DJ Jazzy Jay. The first single released with a Def Jam Recordings logo was T La Rock & Jazzy Jay "It's Yours". The first releases with a Def Jam Recordings catalogue number were LL Cool J's "I Need a Beat", and the Beastie Boys', "Rock Hard", both in 1984. The singles sold well, eventually leading to a distribution deal with CBS Records'
Now after saying all that. Since the day Def Jam was created. The label has produced the most influential hip hop artist to date. Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, Ja Rule, DMX, Method Man, Red Man Rihanna, Rick Ross, Neyo. VH1 took the entire night to honor the worlds greatest hip hop label. Def Jam was honored for 25 years of being a great hip hop label.
I know after the sex tape scandal everyone was waiting to see if Foxy Brown would show. She showed up and seem to have showed out. I think she was feeling like Na-Na again. Red and Meth came through and did the damn thing. You if its hip hop somehow queen MJB is in the building. She is our song tress forever. Flava Flav ugly self and Chuck-D had a PE reunion. Dope!!
Ashanti was looking great and I'm glad her and Ja Rule got it in one more time. Ja Rule I see the jacket game looking real nice. Eve was there getting a check. I wonder who she got the hook up with at VH1. Luda and Scarface did for Def Jam south. DMX is back and I think he about to bite real hard. Onyx hate ya guts and hope that you die.
Chrisette Michelle is too cool. Rick Ross chill out. Your fat you can not rock everything. Trey Songs is living his moment Hip Hops own band The Roots. Uncle Rush and Tracy Morgan "thank y'all for coming out god bless goodnight" As you guys can see it is a show to see. The VH1 hip hop honors air Tuesday, October 12 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
