There are now more African-Americans enrolled in law school than ever before, according to the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education. It reveals that during the 2008-2009 academic year there were nine thousand, eight hundred and 82 black students attending the country’s 197 accredited law schools, the largest number ever enrolled at U-S law schools.
The number of African-Americans enrolled in law school has climbed from approximately four- to nearly ten-thousand since 1972. Black student enrollment in law schools last year went up three-and-a-half-percent from the 2007-2008 school year, and their ranks now make up six-and-a-half-percent of all law school enrollments.
