MARY J. BLIGE DIDN'T FORGET WHERE SHE FROM, TAKES OPRAH ON A TOUR THROUGH THE PROJECTS

Mary J. Blige appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about giving back to the community. Mary J. Blige opened up the womens center in the her childhood neighborhood in the yonkers, where they help women of the ghetto obtain a better future. The Mary J. Bige women's center has a child day care, GED class, Computer Center for creating resumes and finding work. Mary also takes Oprah on a tour through the projects where she grew up and run into an old friend while walking into her childhood building. Mary J. BLige has also been mentoring young girls from the Women's Academy of Excellence, the only public all-girls school in the Bronx. Mary J, Blige and Carol's Daughter along with Jay-Z and Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are helping fund scholarships for the young women to attend college.
