My Mic Sounds Nice: A Truth About Women And Hip Hop documentary aired yesterday on BET and of course they could have done a better job. I could go in on BET but today we gone focus on the fact they had to air this documentary in the first place. This is due to the lack of female MCs in hip hop right now. There were several reason presented in the documentary as to why we have a lack of females in the game. I personally believe there is really only one. I have to say that reason is due to the lack of productivity and egos the ladies have. Now the number one example would be the fact that Lil Kim and Foxy Brown both decided not to take part and I understand thay maybe icons of women in hip hop but clearly they declined not to do the show because they think they are too good. The documentary includes Salt N Pepa, Missy Elliot, Eve, Diamond, Trina, Lady Rage, MC Lyte, Jean Grae, and many more.
