In a time when male groups seem to go relatively unnoticed, four stars are making their way onto the scene and giving music lovers a new reason to pay attention. Introducing the next generation of R&B music – Project 718. They exude confidence, personality, and an undeniable sense of style that broadens their appeal and suggest that this act is destined for superstar success. From their powerful vocal delivery to their commanding stage presence, everything about this R&B quartet is genuinely appealing. Hailing from two corners of NYC they share an authentic bond. "Project 718 represents our area code; we chose the name because it represents our sound, where we're from, and everything that brings us together", explains David who alongside Ayden and Rell are from Brooklyn, the fourth member Ryan from the Bronx completes this vocal powerhouse. Project 718 now signed with Capitol Records has recorded several songs with some of the music industries top record producers and songwriters including The Lab Ratz (Musiq Soulchild), Tha Corna Boyz (Marques Houston, Chris Brown, Beyonce), Daron Jones (112, Keyshia Cole, Usher), and Teddy Bishop (Ginuwine, AAliyah, Jagged Edge), Tank, Dave Young, C-Jai (wrote “Pulse” for Toni Braxton and Project 718’s first single “Next Round” impacting in July), Kendrick Dean and many others. Having developed solid and prolific song-writing abilities, the group members co-write the majority of their songs.
Inspired by the artistry of popular performers like Michael Jackson, Dru Hill, Boyz 2 Men, and Stevie Wonder as well as hip-hop legends Jay-Z and the Notorious B.I.G. it’s impressive to note, the group members also draw inspiration from each others individual talents. "We definitely feed off of each other's energy during performances and creatively when we're in the studio!!!" admits Rell. Project 718 embodies a spirit of creativity and have developed a sound that is nostalgic yet still their own. Their ability to adapt musical styles, and inject them with a self-described "New York Swag" denotes their originality and keen ears built for harmony.
With a clear vision of who they are and where they're heading, Project 718 has already begun establishing themselves as true entertainers. "We love the studio but the moments on stage when nothing else matters is what we live for!!!" says David also known to his group members as the R&Beast for unleashing spontaneous high-energy vocal performances evoking raw emotion. "There's nothing like the vibe that's created on-stage when we're bringing our records to life and sharing a connection with the audience" adds Ryan.
